The Owens Corning Pro Build Team: Access, Not Availability

There’s a meaningful difference between a builder who claims a material and a builder who has been invited to help shape it. Northern Outdoor Living is a member of Owens Corning’s Pro Build Team — a small, selective group of builders that Owens Corning works with to field-test and showcase its WearDeck product. We didn’t order our way onto that team. We were invited, based on reputation and craftsmanship.

That distinction matters for our clients. The Pro Build Team isn’t a catalog you can buy into; it’s a relationship built on how a company designs, builds, and conducts itself. Owner Dan Pettit was invited after Owens Corning’s product-development leadership took note of the way Northern Outdoor Living runs its projects and the caliber of its work. A competitor can’t simply claim the same standing.

What this means practically is that the material and the manufacturer-level support behind it are woven into how we build — and every client benefits from that access by default. It’s the standard we build with, not a premium tier we upsell. Wood is available only when a client specifically requests it.

We think of it as access, not availability. Access to a fully synthetic structural product that didn’t exist for most of the industry’s history, and to a partnership that keeps us at the leading edge of where outdoor living is headed.

For Twin Cities homeowners, that translates into a simple advantage: you’re hiring a builder positioned at the front of a materials shift, not one playing catch-up to it.
